10 Whiskey, Bourbon, Soda Jerky Marinades

If you’re thinking of giving some of your delicious homemade jerky as Christmas gifts, why not try giving it a holiday twist and make it using either whisky or bourbon.  Your favorite brand, of course !

Either one of these can be used in the marinade to infuse a unique flavor to beef, bison or venison when mixed in with the other ingredients.  We did not find any recipes for making jerky sticks using whiskey or bourbon – only strip jerky.

In almost all the recipes that we reviewed, the marinade ingredients using either whiskey or bourbon were typical of those ingredients used in a standard jerky marinade with a 1/4 tsp.  curing salt per 1 lb. of meat being part of the recipe.

The marinade time and refrigeration process was the same with the marinade being tossed once the meat has been removed from the marinade. Be sure to pat the strips dry with a paper towel before placing on the dehydrator trays.

We’re placing links below to some of the marinade recipes we found. Each recipe shows the main marinade ingredients so hopefully you can find one that suits your taste.
